People nowadays tend to think that they know it all, but in fact there is much to be learnt from the great heady days of classic films. We get so caught up in the trials of everyday life such as shopping, sales training and consumerism that we forget about the values and principles that some of the great films taught us.
The old films taught us that family was key and that there is nothing so strong as the family unit and family ties. They taught us that having the latest possession or the most money is not the most important thing in the world but that family, friends and love are more important.
The old films bring a glamour into our lives that we rarely experience from the films of today and there is old school, singing and dancing and glamorous dresses and outfits. They also show that clothes do not have to be skimpy and barely there to make a statement, things that we seem to have forgotten today.
Men were men and women were women and yet they do not come across as sexist but rather the men are respectful and kind and the women - home makers who enjoy their role.
Some of these old films might come across as a million miles away from our lives today and yet they can teach us so many things.
